Join me, Douglas Thorne, for an intimate, one-on-one (or very small group) photography guiding experience along the world-famous Milford Road, my home, my backyard. This is your chance to explore hidden gems and iconic locations in Fiordland National Park with personalized guidance tailored to you.
From ancient rainforests draped in moss to cascading waterfalls, the bluest clear rivers you have ever seen, dramatic valleys, and abundant wildlife, we’ll chase the best light and compositions together. Every stop is chosen for its photographic potential, and I’ll share local knowledge built from years living and shooting in this magical landscape.
What’s Included:
- Full-day private guiding (customizable duration and focus)
- Hands-on photography tuition: camera settings, composition, long exposure techniques, wildlife, and field tips
- Access to my favourite spots along the Milford Highway
- Opportunities to photograph lush beech forests, glacial rivers, waterfalls, mountains, native birds, and more
- Milford Sound cruise (included for the ultimate fjord perspective, stunning cliffs, seals, dolphins, and waterfalls from the water)
- Commercial Vehicle – Tesla Model Y or X for the ultimate safe and comfortable journey
- Either Sunrise or Sunset photoshoot – Only one in the summer months though, these 17 hour daylight hours are long!
- Snacks, drinks and Lunch
